Shaving just got smoother
Shaving… I can think of a million reasons why most people dread the process. Okay, so maybe that was a bit of an exaggeration but I will give you a few reasons namely razor burn, bleeding, itching and the infections that sometimes come with it. What if I told you that all those not-so-cool consequences of shaving might soon be a thing of the past? Let me introduce you to the all-new gadget that will revolutionize shaving. I present to you Skarp- the first ever laser-powered razor stick.
The razor stick, founded by Skarp Technologies, is made of over 6000 aluminium, lasting for plus minus 50 000 hours, running on a single rechargeable battery. All you do is simply turn it on and shave smoothly, no water required.
According to the founders, Morgan Gustavsson and Paul Binun, shaving has been using the same technology for 5000 years. “To make any real progress, we needed to take a radical new approach … it’s time to bring shaving to the 21st century,” said the proud founders. Gustavsson had the idea back in 2001 but due to a lack of resources at the time, he had to put it aside for some time.
The team took the project to Kickstarter and judging from the response and feedback thus far, this is a gadget that will take the world by storm. The product already has over 13 000 backers and over $2.5 million people have pledged. Skarp will be launched in March 2016 and is expected to cost around $159.
