The Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) is Africa’s top tech incubator that provides training, investment and mentoring for upcoming technology entrepreneurs. Now for the first time in history, the incubator is now accepting applications from South Africa.
MEST offers a fully-sponsored 12 month programme in which entrepreneurs receive complete training across a range of skills needed to build successful tech businesses such as computer programming, software development, product management, finance, marketing, sales and leadership practices.
The idea behind the year-long programme is to equip tech entrepreneurs with the necessary skills in order to build successful companies that will eventually create wealth and employment opportunities in the continent.
Successful applicants will spend a year at MEST in Accra, Ghana where they will receive a full scholarship. MEST will also assist entrepreneurs with seed investment opportunities.
During the programme, students will be formed into groups to develop a product, write business plans, and craft their investor pitches. The most promising concepts receive between $50,000 to $250,000 USD in equity investment, to support the launch of these new businesses.
To date, the MEST Incubator has invested in over 20 companies and backed more than 55 co-founders. Their focus is on companies in the following areas: SaaS, Consumer Internet, eCommerce, Digital Media, and Healthcare IT.
If you know you have what it takes to become part of Africa’s leading tech incubator, you have until the 1st of June to apply. Don’t miss out!
