The 15th of February 2017, marked the prestigious ceremony of the World Training and Development Congress, happening at the Taj Lands’ end, Mumbai, India. The congress was awarding key leaders around the globe on Leadership Programmes that have made an impact in their respective countries, from management, entrepreneurs to various foundations and Corporate giants.
Our Chairman, Khathu Mashau was nominated for this award on successes behind programmes such as COJEDI, which was initiated by the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality in January 2015 as part of the foundation phase of developing a smart city. The strategy was to recruit and train 1000 of the City’s brightest young information technology (IT) minds to be part of the new digital intern programme.
The project was implemented to support the Gauteng infrastructure investment programme launched by the Premier focusing in the area of ICT and broadband.
“The COJEDI programme changed the lives of many young people in the City of Johannesburg, who not only got permanent work positions, but also some were taken overseas to experience the ICT world and how it operates on a global scale. These were good training wheels for us as an organisation and we strive to do even more of such initiatives and we intend on changing the narrative when coming to the opportunities available for young people in our country,” says Nunnovation Africa Foundation Chairman, Khathu Mashau
It was an honour for Nunnovation Africa Foundation to be awarded Leaders in Training and Development, represented by our Chairman Khathu Mashau, who has been a great visionary and leader in our foundation. We would like to thank our partners and friends who have been with us through this journey and trusted us enough to achieve each of the projects awarded to us. We will continue to spread the good news of Africa’s Innovations and strive to uplift upskill and develop those less fortunate.
