Meet one of our youngest Nunnovators, Palesa Bogoshi. She is driven and thrives in creating, outlandish but practical ideas that always push the team to move forward. Palesa is making great strides in handling our Social Media and PR and definitely someone to look out for in future.

FULL NAME (AND NICKNAME):
Palesa Bogoshi. A friend in primary school decided to choose ‘Polly’ to be my nickname one random Thursday. The name stuck ever since, but ‘Pols’ will do.

WHO’S YOUR FAVOURITE INNOVATOR AND WHY?
Oh my goodness, I can’t pick one!
My favourite innovator OF ALL TIME has got to be the original “Renaissance Man” Leonardo Da Vinci. As an admired artist, philosopher, engineer and inventor, he’s still recognised today as the man behind most concepts and inventions that have led the greatest transformations in history! Future technologies that the world only understood and developed over a century after his death! He was so ahead of his time!
Amongst the several things I am or do, being an artist makes me appreciate his pieces and the weird traits he had that most people don’t know of. Many of his works were never finished, a bad habit I also have, and he wasn’t schooled, but he was amazing nonetheless. Rumour has it that after da Vinci painted one of the angels in Verrocchio’s work “The Baptism of Christ,” the much more experienced artist was so humbled by the young man’s talent that he vowed never to paint again! *Drops mic*
By the way, we named one of our dogs after his famous artwork “Mona-Lisa” so my obsession is pretty real.

My other favourite innovators are:
Steve Jobs – Because he made entrepreneurship look cool and he was an epic visionary
Elon Musk – Brilliant mind and was born in South Africa ;p
Mark Zuckerberg – Too obvious

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE QUOTE?
“When you know you’re destined for greatness, your potential haunts you. It keeps you up at night. You won’t feel complete until you succeed.”

WHAT’S YOUR SPIRIT ANIMAL AND WHY?
I’ve got two.
Panda Bear. They’re adorable fellas that want to sleep all day. Me in a nutshell. Being a sleepy girl with a busy life gets tough!
Back Mamba. Now I know the snake it perceived as the most feared because of it being the deadliest on earth, other than the King Cobra. However, I like to approach challenges and goals similar to how the snake approaches its prey. They’re shy and independent as well.

BEST BOOK YOU’VE READ?
Rich Dad Poor Dad. Read it in a day and it changed me forever!

WHAT/WHICH IS YOUR FAVOURITE MOVIE/CARTOON CHARACTER?
My favourite cartoon character is Kim Possible! I still know that song off by heart and sing it when I need encouragement! She feared nothing, beat up the bad guys, and did it so effortlessly! She lived a normal life but did amazing things! And she was gorgeous!

IF YOU COULD BE SOMEONE ELSE WHO WOULD IT BE?
My Grandmother, she’s 94 and still going strong. I love her dearly and admire her strength.

WHO WOULD YOU LOVE TO WORK WITH ONE DAY?
Oprah Winfrey. Media mogul, and one of my favourite philanthropist who’s helped so many lives.

WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST/MOST FAVOURITE ACCOMPLISHMENT?
I have two. Being a published poet by the age of 12.
Secondly, overcoming depression of seven years and learning to live life to the fullest.

WHAT’S YOUR WEIRDEST TALENT?
My existence! *laughs* I’m kidding..(not really)
I think it would be my ability to make people realise the greatness in themselves, if it can be seen as a talent. Oh! And never completing my artworks!

BEST MOMENT AT NUNNOVATION?
The Coding Camp we had late last year. Mentoring young people with great minds and learning from them as well was priceless. I live for such moments.

WRITE A SHORT BIOGRAPHY:
Normal girl, brewing revolutions. *chuckles* that’s so dramatic! But I’m low-key dramatic like that!
