PPC conducts brick making workshops for its customers nationwide

PPC has been a household name in the construction industry for over 120 years and has played an integral part of the development of South Africa’s infrastructure.

The cement leader recently hosted a brick making workshop at the Cashbuild Soshanguve store early October. PPC placed Point Of Sale material in Build It and Cashbuild’s around Gauteng targeting brick makers and self-builders, encouraging them to buy PPC products.

These informative and interactive workshops are the first of many to take place across Gauteng from August to October. The workshops fall in line with PPC’s promotions that are taking place with Build It and Cashbuild where consumers stand a chance to win 1 of 10 brick making machines and 60×500 electricity vouchers.

Attendees experienced a brick-making demo and were taught how to make bricks and how it relates to building, and all stood a chance to win a top-of-the-line brick making machine. “The brick making demo was an eye opener because we learnt how to make bricks as we were taken through the process of making cement and  how to mix concrete,  hence saving ourselves money in the future”, said Samuel Motaung one of the brick making workshop attendees at the Olievenhoutbosch workshop. “I will definitely attend the next workshop the next time it’s in my community and I encourage everyone to attend.”

PPC Technical Marketing Manager, Donovan Leach commented, “Apart from the educational aspect at the workshops, our customers had the opportunity to share their building experiences. This ability to make bricks using PPC cement helps ensure that all attendees have upskilled themselves and, should they want to, have the opportunity to secure a future in the brick-making industry.
