Monetisation and partnership strategies, these will be the main focus subjects on the quest towards developing the innovation sphere in Africa during the 12th edition of the East Africa Com. The event which focuses on the growing ICT sector in Africa. ‘The East Africa Com programme reflects the dynamism of the East African market, with representatives from the region’s foremost operators, alternative service providers, innovative start-ups, creative developers and more.’
East Africa who are “representing the most advanced region in Africa of growing in mobile and digital communications, mobile money and ICT development,” will have their key targets as start-up companies within the ICT industry.
In partnership with ‘I hub’, they are launching an Entrepreneurs Hub “a mentorship programme” which will give opportunity to young entrepreneurs to learn how to run a business from a professional manner. According to East Africa Com “This content will be vital to young entrepreneurs to gain a better understanding of how big business operates and thinks. You will be encouraged to put forward at least one mentor to the programme.”
Attendees will benefit from critical insights into the following themes: “Transforming into a digital enterprise”, “the evolving role of the East African CIO” and “Building digital leadership while renovating core IT infrastructure”, these themes.
The long list of speakers includes: Teressa Belete, Chief Enterprises Officer EthioTelecom; Bulle Jarso, Hub Engineering Manager IWayAfrica; Joel Imitira, Assistant Director, market Analysis and Tariffs Communications Authority of Kenya; and Tom Omariba, Managing Director MTN Business Kenya.
Over the years east Africacom has attracted many people and influential speakers, with the highest attendance reaching over 600 in 2014. Amongst those attendees were a list of influential people from Africa’s ICT sector.
The 11th edition was magnificent that some guests had nothing but praise for the event.
